The Red-tailed Hawk (Buteo jamaicensis) is a large hawk - it can
reach a length of up to 60 cm with a wingspan close to 1.5 meter.
Red-tailed Hawks are common throughout Alberta, especially in the
aspen parkland, where they can be seen soaring up in the sky or
perching on poles along the highway, looking for Prey. Red-tailed
Hawk's, except for juveniles, can be identified by their red tails.
